Judy Garland truly has stood the test of time. She lives on in all of us. A rollercoaster of emotion, Frank Sinatra once quoted “Every time Judy performs, a little piece of her dies, she gives that much of herself.”
Even though her life sometimes tragic, Judy left it all in the wings.
Petrina Bishop looks forward to sharing with the songs of yesteryear, such as The Trolley Song, The Man That Got Away, & of course Over The Rainbow.
Cole Porter: Anything Goes!
Tuesday, 9th October 2018
Cole Albert Porter was an American composer and songwriter. Born to a wealthy family in Indiana, he defied their wishes and took up music as a profession. Classically trained, he was drawn towards musical theatre and achieved success in the 1920s, and by the 1930s he was one of the major songwriters for the Broadway musical stage. Unlike many successful Broadway composers, Porter wrote the lyrics, as well as the music, for his songs.
Relive favourites such as Anything Goes, Night and Day, ‘Lets Do It’ and more sung by last year’s W.A.A.P.A. musical theatre graduates.
